Water Damage Restoration Houston
Types of Water Damage
Category
1 water damage results from a clean
water source, such as a burst water line, requires thorough extraction and
drying. This type of water loss is typically reversible when help is called
right away. Carpeting, personal belongings, and other soft goods can usually be
dried and restored.
Category
2 water
damage occurs when the water source is contaminated with chemical, physical, or
biological elements that may cause illness. This type of water damage occurs
when dishwashers or washing machines overflow, or sinks or toilets overflow.
Category 2 water damage requires additional cleaning and decontamination steps
be taken to prevent illness.
Category
3 water damage
contains significant pathogens, and may cause serious illness or possibly death
if ingested. This type of water loss occurs with sewage backups, floodwaters
that enter your home, or water that has been stagnant for an extended period of
time and may be growing bacteria.
Both
Category 2 and Category 3 water damage can be dangerous, and it is important to
leave cleanup and disinfection to the pros who have the equipment, training,
and expertise to safely clean and restore your property.
