Category 2  water damage occurs when the water source is contaminated with chemical, physical, or biological elements that may cause illness. This type of water damage occurs when dishwashers or washing machines overflow, or sinks or toilets overflow. Category 2 water damage requires additional cleaning and decontamination steps be taken to prevent illness.
